The Math and Science Partnership Program Evaluation (MSP-PE): Overview of the First Two Years

Abstract

The article considers the MSP Program from its positioning as an R& D, not just education program. From this perspective, a program evaluation must assess the creation of discoveries and innovations. The article gives many examples of such advances in education (including practice-based, as well as research-based advances), offering a fourfold typology of discoveries and innovations. No matter the type, all must formally appear in some published form if claiming to be a contribution to knowledge. The article concludes that the needed R&D assessment can occur by monitoring the partnerships formal presentations and publications.
